Family law valuations of hospitality venues.
Independent valuations of pubs, clubs, motels and hospitality businesses for family law and matrimonial matters.
Valuations that hold up in the Family Court
When a pub, motel or hospitality business forms part of a matrimonial property pool, both parties — and the Court — need an independent, defensible figure. These venues aren't valued like ordinary property: the licence, the trade and the goodwill all matter, and getting it wrong can shift a settlement materially.
allbec Advisory prepares independent valuations for family law, acting as a single expert or party-appointed valuer, with reports written to withstand cross-examination.
How we act
- Single (jointly-appointed) expert
- Party-appointed expert
- Shadow expert / review of another valuation
- Conferences of experts where required
What we value
We value the going-concern business (trade and goodwill), the property interest, and the plant and equipment as required — apportioned clearly — on an independent, evidence-based footing that gives both sides and the Court confidence.
Common questions
What's a single expert valuation?
A valuer jointly appointed by both parties to provide one independent valuation, rather than each side engaging their own. It's common in family law because it's efficient and the Court gives it significant weight.
Can you value the business as well as the property?
Yes. For a trading venue, much of the value sits in the going-concern business — the trade and goodwill — not just the real estate. We value and apportion both.
Will the valuation stand up in Court?
Our reports are prepared to the standard expected of an independent expert and are able to withstand scrutiny and cross-examination.
